Free gets you a table. Buffet+ gets you one every week.
Buffet is an app for meeting people in real life. Pick a spot, invite someone, or get a plate at a table — one-to-one or in groups of six or less.
The free tier is the whole app. The subscription is just more of it.

One plate a month is a trial, not a plan.
A plate is a seat at one of the week's picks. One a month is enough to find out whether Buffet works for you: you claim it, the table forms at three, you go, you meet five people who chose the same Thursday. Most people know after one night whether they want a second.
The second one is the point. Friendship is made of repetition, the same faces more than once, and once a month is not repetition. Buffet+ removes the limit so you can take a plate every week, or two in a week when the list is good. That is the entire pitch: the free tier shows you the table, the subscription lets you keep sitting down at it.
The profile and invite limits matter less and we will not pretend otherwise. Twenty profiles a day instead of five is useful if you like to look before you claim; fifty invites instead of one is for people who bring others. Plates are what you are paying for.
Things people ask
Do I need Buffet+ to use Buffet?
No. The free tier is the whole product: the weekly list, claiming a plate, the table forming at three, the group chat. The limits are one plate a month, five profiles a day and one invite a day. Buffet+ raises the limits; it does not unlock a different app.
What is a plate?
A plate is your seat at a pick. Claim one and you are in the group for that night; when three people have claimed a plate at the same pick the table is real and the chat opens. On the free tier you can claim one plate a month. On Buffet+ there is no limit, so you can be at a table every week, or twice a week.
How much does Buffet+ cost?
In the US App Store: $14.99 a month, or $99.99 a year, which works out to about $8.33 a month. The annual plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Both renew automatically until you cancel, which you do in your Apple ID subscriptions like any other app.
What is “20 More People”?
A one-time $4.99 purchase that adds 20 profiles to your daily allowance on the free tier, for a day when you want to look at more people than five. If you find yourself buying it more than twice a month, Buffet+ is cheaper.
Is there a student or founding-member rate?
Not at the moment. If that changes it will be announced in the app and on this page.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep Buffet+ until the end of the period you paid for, then drop back to the free tier. Nothing is deleted: your tables, chats and history stay.

Buffet+ is inside the app once you want the second one.
